Opel is the first manufacturer of an electric rally car
This is the world's first serial RAID. In March, Opel launches an electric rally car based on the Opel Corsa-e. the car is currently being developed in RUESSELSHEIM and will participate in sports competitions in the 2020/2021 season. In 2020, Opel and ADAC will launch the ADAC Opel E-Rally Cup, the world's first branded electric car Cup. With the new series, Opel and ADAC maintain their successful partnership. In recent years, the ADAC Opel Rallye Cup has been the perfect pass for a rally of about 100 young drivers from 18 countries. The drivers were able to demonstrate their talent on the international stage in the ADAC Opel Junior Rallye team. Opel juniors have won the European championship four times in a row (from 2015 to 2018) thanks to the Opel ADAM R2 model. The new Opel Corsa-e will now replace the ADAM model in rally areas.
The new Opel rally car is fully electric. The engine develops a power of 100 kW (136 HP) and reaches 260 Nm of torque available from the start. Energy is extracted from lithium-ion batteries with a capacity of 50 kWh. Front-wheel drive with Torsen differential. The curb weight is 1400 kg.
